It’s Your Festival is turning 50 and we are celebrating it with kindness! The 5th annual Just One Wish Kindness Awards, will be recognizing 50 children between the ages of 4 to 18 from across Hamilton Wentworth District School Board, for their kindness to themselves, others and the environment. These children will be recognized and awarded during It’s Your Festival’s Canada Day celebrations on July 1st, at the Official Canada Day Ceremony at 2:00pm, in Gage Park, Hamilton.
About One Wish Kindness Awards: The Just One Wish Kindness Awards are all about honouring the greatest strength – kindness. These 50 incredible children show kindness every day at school and wherever they go. They participate in various clubs, help clean their communities, give their time, support their fellow classmates, and organize spirit and fundraiser days/events. They do it all with a smile and positive attitude.
For 50 days leading up to It’s Your Festival, starting May 10th, we will be showcasing one of the award recipients. The videos will be posted on It’s Your Festival’s website and Facebook page, as well as Just One Wish Kindness Program’s website, Facebook page and YouTube Channel – MakeKindnessCount. About It’s Your Festival: It’s Your Festival is an annual Canada Day celebration produced by Hamilton Folk Arts Heritage Council, a non-profit Hamilton-based organization founded in 1969 with a mandate to nurture and promote the diverse cultural heritage of Canada.
It’s Your Festival kicks off on June 29, 2019 with fabulous foods from around the world, Magical Midway rides, 100 Arts and Crafts Vendors, Rise 2 Fame Youth Talent Search, Spelling Bee, Beer Garden and stellar music and entertainment on four stages until 11pm, daily! Canada Day Celebrations include: Parade of Cultures, Canada’s Biggest Birthday Cake, Canada Day Baby Contest and Canadian Citizenship Ceremony, 50 local school children demonstrating One Wish Kindness and much more!
