Brantford Power warning residents of telephone scam

Brantford Power is warning customers to be aware of a telephone scam targeting businesses in the area.

The company says the scam involves a caller demanding immediate account payment within 30 minutes and threatening disconnection of power service.

However, Brantford Power says it does not demand immediate payment or disconnect customers without prior notice.

Customers who receive a suspicious phone call should hang up and report the incident to the Brantford Police Department, the company says.
