Metric + July Talk are both undeniable Canadian indie-rock institutions; each in their own right. Both bands were born from an intense amount of grassroots, dues-paying, small club circuit slogging thanks to which both bands eventually found a fan base that embraced their distinctive sound, original songwriting and tireless work ethic. They each create songs that instantly become both wide reaching radio anthems and incredibly personal creations to their fans. Both bands are comprised, socially, politically and professionally insightful and barrier breaking, out-of-the-box thinkers, business leaders and artistic creators.

Metric are four time Juno Award winners (2010: Group, 2010: Alt Album, “Fantasies,” 2013: Alt Album: “Synthetica,” 2013: Producer, James Shaw), five time Juno Award nominees and have short listed three times for the Polaris Music Prize. Metric’s co-scored the Hollywood blockbuster Twilight Saga: Eclipse with legendary composer Howard Shore, for which the soundtrack was nominated for both a Grammy and an American Music Award. With the release of their chart topping new single Dark Saturday, Metric broke the record for the artist with both the most #1 singles and the most weeks spent at #1 at Canadian alternative radio.

July Talk has won two Juno Awards for both of their albums (2015: Alt Album, “July Talk” and 2017: Alt Album, “Touch,”) they were nominated for Breakthrough Group of the Year in 2014. July Talk’s last national tour was entirely sold out. Their debut album + singles “Guns + Ammunition” and “Push + Pull” (which spent 13 weeks at #1 at Alt Radio) are all certified Gold and they were awarded the inaugural Hi-Fidelity Prism Prize Award for using video art to represent their work in a consistently creative and innovative way.
