Songscape Music Festival
The Aud | June 20 & 21, 2025
A brand new music festival is set to make waves in the Kitchener-Waterloo region this summer. Songscape, an entirely outdoor event, will debut on the first weekend of summer—Friday, June 20 and Saturday, June 21—on the grounds of The Auditorium (The Aud) at 400 East Avenue, Kitchener.
Songscape is a provincially incorporated non-profit organization dedicated to supporting live music in the Waterloo Region. Evolving from the Rally for Health event presented by the Grand River Hospital Foundation in May 2023, Songscape continues its philanthropic spirit by partnering with both the Grand River Hospital Foundation and the Awesome Music Project. Proceeds from the festival will directly benefit these two charitable organizations.
The presenting sponsor of the festival is Dave Rocks 107.5. A Dynamic Lineup Across Two Stages. The festival, a licensed and ticketed event, will feature a diverse range of musical acts spanning multiple genres. Two stages will be set up in The Aud’s expansive parking lot, showcasing an impressive mix of artists. Headline Performers:
● Friday, June 20: Theory of a Deadman, Headstones, and Finger Eleven.
● Saturday, June 21: Mother Mother, Bahamas, and Good Kid.
Spotlight on Local Talent
Recognizing the region’s deep musical roots, Songscape will feature local artists on the Rising Stars Stage. Aspiring bands are encouraged to participate in the Rising Stars Challenge by submitting their music to Mia Romo, Project Coordinator (mia@songscape.ca). Selected finalists will perform at the festival, and the winner will receive a full day of recording time at Waterloo’s state-of-the-art Rupert Street Recording studio.
Experienced Leadership Behind the Festival
The festival is spearheaded by Executive Director Jim Boone, who brings extensive industry experience. Boone managed the Ottawa International Jazz Festival in the 1990s before being recruited to launch Ottawa Bluesfest as its inaugural General Manager. He now operates the Waterloo-based Jimmy’s Feed Co.
“We are thrilled to launch Songscape and welcome thousands of live music fans to an unforgettable weekend. This festival not only fills a gap in the region’s live music scene but also supports two fantastic charities,” says Boone.
