Hamilton Winterfest is a co-production between The City of Hamilton, local arts non-profit Cobalt Connects, and a long list of community partners who bring specialized programming to life from January 29th to February 15th. From the Art Gallery of Hamilton and Hamilton Fringe Festival, to the Hamilton Public Library, SoupFest and Neighbourhood Associations – Winterfest gives you every excuse to get out of the house or hop online to connect with your community.
Started by a group of intrepid community-builders, Winterfest was established as a community-led program. Neighbourhood groups, schools, arts organizations and City of Hamilton facilities created programming aimed at bringing residents out of their homes during the frosty days of February.
For more than 40 years the City of Hamilton played the role of facilitating the festival, providing collective marketing and anchor programming.
With a growing community and increased demand for engaging cultural and recreation offerings in the winter, the City of Hamilton engaged Cobalt Connects, a well know local arts service organization, to lead the management and growth of Winterfest. We aim to enhance local efforts, while building Winterfest into Hamilton’s signature snowy festival..
Every year we’re proud to share the incredible events that occur across our amazing city. This year, we have seen resiliency, uniqueness and creativity to be able to bring the same great Winterfest enjoyment into your home. Head to these virtual events with our local talent!
